Leucistic Cornsnakes - info, someone claims they have them in Arizona!

Kerby... Jun 20, 2004 10:03 PM

And I'm not talking about hybrids (leucistic rat x corn). He says that he has DNA to confirm his claim.

Is this a first?

Well from what I could read on that thread it seems to there is a lot of unknowns in this.

Are the eyes Blue, Black or Red?

Some say they were marketed as hybrids with ratsnakes, if so, no matter how many generations down the line, no matter how much the DNA says they are allelic with a cornsnake, if it is KNOWN that they have ratsnake heritage, they are NOT a leucisistic corn, they are a hybrid.

I would be wary until I had a lot more information. Also seems to me that if you have leucisistic ratsnakes, and can't get a cornsnake without using the ratsnake to make it, it's better just to enjoy the ratsnakes instead of the trumped up hybrid.

Not that I'm rabidly anti-hybrid, but don't like to hear people say it is THIS SNAKE when they KNOW that there is something ELSE in its family tree.

Who spends money to have DNA tests done so as to prove a new morph, then (after getting his confirmation) only sells the babies at $40?!?!?

The animals are likely hybrids or blizzards. I suggest the former, but either way, they're not as advertized. I'd sure stay clear of these snakes ...

I was just trying to get him to admit that they were hybrids and showing that Dsnakeguy was a liar and a fraud, which he is.

Don, I know Luke isn't a liar.

Also, when are your High White Cal Kings due to hatch??

I bred your Aztec Corn to a Stripe as well as to others. Can't wait. I bred later though.
