what are the possible outcomes of breeding a hypo emory to an amel emory....

I think that they would possibly be het for each, but what if you bred those back to each other? Just wondering, don't know if I would invest that much time into it, as I like mine as pets now. But you never know what the future can hold.

Thanks in advance.

One sixteenth of the clutch on average should be homozygous for both traits - i.e., they'd be amel hypos. In some species these are referred to as "sunglows" and yields a particularly clean looking, very intensely colored, bright amel. I have seen some hypo amels however that don't look very different from a normal amel. I'm not certain if this combo has been done yet with emoryi. But there's only one way to find out if the hypo amel would look different from the standard amels - and that of course is to do it.

Good Luck!

I am gonna say you'd get a litter of double het for Hybino. Your chances of producing one would be about 1 in 16. Breeding those double hets should create Amels possible het Hypo, Hypos possible het Amels and more possible and definite double hets. I am pretty sure that's the deal anyways. Tom

I don't think anyone is going to do this cross simply because you would be wasting a breeding season on two high end ratsnakes.
In the past the 1/16th hybino have been difficult (if not impossible) to distingiush from the normal albinos. So what breeder is going to cross these when prices are holding on these morphs. Now a amelXaxanthic or hypoXaxanthic would make more sense because the 1/16th would be easy to ditinguish.
