Whitewater, Little Lake, and Central Coast of California

Whitewater, Little Lake, and Central Coast of California.

Whitewater and vicinity this weekend. Numerous Glossy's and a few Longnose were seen as well. Not one Rattlesnake though.

I've never seen a pattern like this before on a Gophersnake, I assume there is some variability.

Common.

About the 15th Lyre Snake I've seen here this year. The past few years I've only seen just one a year.

Leopard-Banded Gecko anyone, I've seen spotted's before but this one kinda jumped out at me.

I've only seen just a few this year.

Always love to see Rosy's about, I just can't get them to sit in situ long enough for the shot.

Little Lake area last week, I've never been there so I just hit the first road that looked good.

All I had seen were these two leafnose snakes, both of them were on the road at the same time, about 200 feet away from each other, saw nothing else, very cold.

Central Coast north of Big Sur.

Just sitting motionless inches from the trail.

This alligator lizard actually let me scratch it's head when I was done taking it's picture. It let me get so close to take the picture I had to try.

Central Coast south of Big Sur.

I heard the calls while pumping gas, and followed the calls to this frog sitting at the edge of a fountain at the gas station. I assume it's a type of Canyon Treefrog.

We actually see a lot of those gophers with faded patterns up here in Lancaster. Ive seen them in the trade, too, but I too was shocked when I found my first like that. Now that youve seen one you will see them all over the place.
