mealworm vs superworm

gothra Jun 21, 2004 06:18 AM

Is there any benefit feeding 1 inch size baby superworm vs adult mealworm (also about 1 inch size)? Less chitin? What about the nutritional value, which is better?

I tried offering adult supers, but they won't eat it, probably too big. On the other hand, they love mealies.

They're about the same as far as nutritional value and chitin. The thing I like about supers is that they come in different sizes, so as my leos grow, I can feed them bigger and bigger supers. However, I've tried using supers as a staple diet, but after 4 or 5 months of that, all but one of my leos is sick of them. Although supers move a lot more, I think mealworms just taste better.
