A photo that has been circulating recently of John Kerry at an anti war rally is a Fraud.
In an article in DIGITAL PHOTO PRO MAGAZINE July/August 2004 by Ken Light: the photographer who took the orrigional photograph (which was just of John Kerry) discusses how it was created.

This photo paste up which shows a young John Kerry sitting next to the actress (Fonda)who is in the process of making a speech has been a barb in the side of the Kerry campaign, in particularly damaging to his Vietnam veteran support. Now it seems it is nothing but a piece of propganda created by someone seeking to damage his campaign. Even the HEADLINE, AP credit and attached blurb are fake.

It presents a disturbing question to the public, as it poses a question as to how much - so called photographic evidence can be trusted as real. We all knew it was coming...

This article also discusses the LA TIMES photo of a British soldier that had been composited to make it look more dramatic.

This rings back to the photos of prisoner abuse that were so widely talked about in the news. Fortunatly there were witness accounts that verified the events captured in those photos.

Its interesting what could be done with the manipulation of photos. But who do we hold responsible for the abuse? Should we hold the person who might benefit from the deceitful campaign accountable? I think we should.

Do you remember when Bush Jr. was loosing to John McCain in 2000? When they went into Carolina the Bush camp started a "whisper" campaign against McCain. McCain had adopted a child from a center in Burma (I think). This was an act of real generosity - real giving and real caring. There was no good that would come from this other than saving some hopeless little life in a dank adoption center in south east asia. But the Bush gang, reportedly backed by Carl Rove, started a rumor that this little child was the result of an illigitamate affair McCain had with a black woman out of wedlock.

The whole campaign turned as a result of this deciet. And of course when asked, Bush claimed he had no awareness of this whisper campaign. But even if we believe him, shouldn't we hold him responsible for the actions of those who work in his interest?

they were both speakers at this anti-Vietnam rally. So even if the photo was faked, how do you explain that they were both speakers? They were clearly both participating in this rally, and not as mere observers! Kerry clearly made many false statements about this war. (Like testifying to congress that he participated in war crimes, and now testifying that he only heard about war crimes, and that he was exaggerating.)

By the way, I have heard that there are multiple photos, and a couple are clearly fakes and a couple are clearly real. I suspect this is probably true, since they were both at this rally as guest speakers, so many people probably got a shot of them together during the rally.

` The most significant "thorn in the side" of the Democratic presidential campaign is Kerry himself. What a stiff he is. At least he married right, if money is the goal.

He does, however, exhibit the "American Dream": Get as much as you can get. The end justifies the means. Then, once you've got it, hoard it and waste it, while others starve.
` The Democrats have lost their way. In trying to appease the right wing, they have adopted a non-liberal stand, in trying to win elections. Clinton made this policy work, and look at what a zero he was.
` The Republicans have gone berserk with atavism. It gets votes from the unwashed dogmatists, but it is crass and transparent as a means to gain power.
` 2004 is evolving to be the most disgusting election in my lifetime, and that goes back to Harry Truman. I think I may fall back on 1968 and write in Pat Paulson. Even in death he has more credibility than the two cretins we will have to choose between. They make me want to vomit.

That Kerry was at the rally with Hanoi Jane is not the point of this exersize. The point is that a Faked photo was passed off as Real.

` OK, OK, but couldn't we send Kerry and Hanoi Jane back to Hanoi and then do one last bombing run? He's a dud, and since she's no longer decorative, she's useless ( she set it up that way ). Maybe even send Bush along as a bulls-eye?
` By the way, that "dancing Anaconda" pic ain't faked. Those two males like to push each other around. They puff up their throats like Rat Snakes. Whenever the female ( in another cage ) starts waving her tail around ( like Jane ), they get positively political about who's the best for the job.
