"Grow A Frog" In Restricted States

xenopusltd Jun 21, 2004 04:01 PM

Grow a frog is currently shipping out two species of clawed frog.. Xenopus laevis laevis and Silurana tropicalis (what they call the "california frog"

However, BOTH of these species are restricted in: California, Nevada, Arizona, Florida, Kentucky, Louisianna, New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico and Hawaii.

I have asked the Fish and Wildlife service and HAVE CONFIRMED that silurana are too closely related to xenopus and are also restricted, despite what GAF claims..

Please be certain to contact your local fish and wildlife if u live in any of these states prior to receiving animals..

I have contacted fish and game as well about Grow A Frog and they have indeed confirmed that Xenopus and Silurana are ILLEGAL in those states and were absolutely baffled by this company.

fish and game of the state i live in want to know HOW Grow A Frog can ship restricted frogs to these states and HOW they can ship them over state lines with no health guarentes as well.....

hopefully they will take a serious look into GAF and shut them down.
