ive had my burm about 2 months now and he is an albino green male about 7 feet but only weighs 8-9lbs is that underweight?? also he is 4.5 yrs old he looks thinner than most burms i have seen and his head seems pretty small for his age do you think he was stunted? anyways i fed him two large rats 2 and a half weeks ago and he had no problems so two days ago i decided to try a rabbit approx 2lbs or so maybe a little heavier anyway the lump is already gone and it didnt take him very long to down it. should i stick with rabbits this size every two weeks or move up or down?? also his first rabbit as far as i know the guy i got him from said he fed him med rats every two weeks. thanx and sorry so long jason

I would definitely stick with the rabbits. And feel greatfull that yours made the switch with no problem. As far as yours being underweight I would say yeas it probably is but not to bad. It has probably just grown extremely slow due to inadequate feeding and husbandry. Give it a proper place to live with the proper temps and humidity and feed it more regularly and he should put on some weight. My male albino is almost 2 years old and almost 9 foot and weighs almost 20 pounds. He was fed heavily on rats until about 6.5-7 feet. Since then I have been working on switching him to rabbits but he still will not take them on his own. I would feed him a rabbit every 7 days until his weight is up and he fills out better. Keep us posted. Todd
