Playsand and other Species

Is play sand the best thing to use for my HTL tank?

And if the future I would like to get a Rankins or Bearded dragon can the live with HTL's?

Thanks
Carlos

Hey man,

I would avoid housing HLs with Beardies or Rankins.
First off, HLs aren't terribly social creatures to begin with, and sometimes they get stressed out with bigger "friends" in their living space. another thing is size. Beardies get huge, and HLs, well, they don't. I also know that Beardies will eat almost anything when they get bigger. I wouldn't want to find my Beardie dead because he couldn't negotiate the HLs horns down his throat, much less my HL dead, for that matter. If you have a big enough enclosure, (ie 50 gallons or larger) other lizards from the same area can work, provided they are of similar size. Banded Geckos and Long-Tailed Brush Lizards are good choices, and I have had no problems with my Zebra-Tail and my HL. just my thoughts though. keep askin around.
