What strain of Albino is this?

jjay Jun 19, 2003 08:28 PM

I bought her from a man who bought her at a herp show in Arlington. I want to breed her but I need a male of the same strain and don't know what that is. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

Looks like a bell albino to me.

Looks like a Bell to me but the only way to know for sure is breed-test. If it makes albino babies with a Bell, it is, if not, it's something else. Is there any way to contact the breeder from Arlington and ask?

The gentleman I bought her from doesn't remember the name of the breeder. I guess I'm stuck (so to speak). At any rate, I know I can produce a male het and breed him back to her. I might just do this even though it will add a year to producing more albinos. Oh well... I love 'em anyway!

I included a pic of the male I got from the same guy. This is my male. His name is Leonardo. Smile for the people Leo'!

Leo is a cutie! What kind of leo is he?

royalgoldreps Jun 20, 2003 02:53 PM

Yes, you could do that but there is still a problem! When you give or sell them what do you tell the person that gets the babies. You still do not know what you have!!! To be responsible, you need to make sure what you have.

Oh, I see he's a high yellow. Very nice.

He's big too. He's 9.5" long and heavy. I don't have a scale yet so I can't weight any of my gex.

Looks very similar to my bell albino. I would go that route first as a first best guess for a mate. I am trying to produce Bell hets this year and maybe I will have a male pop out.

Send me an email and I will add you to my contact list and forward a picture of my animals for you to see.

Does anyone have a pic of a tremper that they could post for comparison? This is for sure not a LV albino.
