i have not seen baby beardies do the "push up" behaviour but have seen it in some other lizards, i think its similar to the head bob as i have seen it in other male lizards as dominant behaviour towards a female and also as a threatening behaviour towards other males. Of course like the headbob i imagine both males and females do this. Just a thought =) hopefully someone else can help you here.....

I've had a few hatchlings do it......usually have been males who ended up quite large and had to be seperated from clutch mates by 8-10 weeks as they were showing breeding behaviors even though they were only 10 inches or so........I had one female hatchling recently do it too....I thought maybe she was a boy in disguise but she still looks female at 4 months now in every way.....I think she's just going to be dominant.....the difference with her is she has been able to stay with her group of girls with no problems.....she just runs the show and she's the smaller of the 4 I have together....not by much, only 1/2 inch but nonetheless smaller.

this baby was on the top of the basking log on top of other beardies in a group of probably 12 or so other babys in an enclosure in petco....so prehaps it is a dominance behavior.......
Thanks
