thank you brian
that does help, so i ll build the rack first 5 tubs across 8 high to give a total of 40, which will give me a few tubs spare to be filled at a later date,

pulling pinkies at 18 days no problem ( i will have to keep a record of when there born do you ??)

leaving some pinks or fluffs in the tub with momma, what happens when new born arrive ?will the new or the slightley older ones still do well ?

with the grow ons tubs for med/adult and future breeders would they have to be sex seperated ,ie all male in together and all female in other tubs or kept in the groups they were taken from there mums ?

I originally wrote a detailed response to your questions but for some reason it did not get posted. Please don't take offense to my short responses here.....I only seem snappy because I don't want to type everything over again.

I simply tape a piece of paper to each pan (or rack frame above the pan) with the birth date and harvest date (birth date plus 18 days)

If new pinks are born into a pan with babies that are more than 4 days old (really depends on their size), I will move them to another pan or split them up among several pans of similar size/age pinks. In competing for mama's milk, the smaller ones will always lose.

I seperate future breeders between 4 - 5 weeks.....closer to 4 weeks. I hold them to 8 weeks of age before setting them up in breeder pans.

If you have more questions I am happy to help.
