found eggs - need advice

crom Jun 22, 2004 08:00 AM

While wandering through a field close to my house over the weekend I stumbled across a few reptile eggs laying exposed to the sun. They look like snake eggs ( or turtle?) They were next to a hole and about six inches down I could see a clutch of eggs. I put a little sand over the clutch to keep the sun off of them and took the three home to try and hatch although I don't think there's much of a chance they were alive. Any Idea what I should do with the remaining clutch? Leave em, put more dirt on them, remove the dirt I added or dig em up to try hatch at home? Any help would be appreciated. There is so little wild life left around my place I want to give them what ever help they might need.

let nature take its coarse. dont touch the eggs and dont disturb the nesting sight anymore. just leave them alone and let what happens happen
