Where are you located in TX? You can contact TPW and find out what you need, what species are acceptable (most are), etc. They've changed the regs over the last couple of years in order to simplify the process of selling native species.

Each state has their own regulations on taking native animals. I know that in California you can only take cali kings, rosy boas, and gopher snakes. Nothing else is allowed to leave the state and be used in the pet trade. You should contact each states wildlife service and find out what is acceptable. Im sure most require permits, which costs money. In CA, its a fishing license, and its about $35. I believe you need a second permit to transport them out of state, another $42. I only know the laws in CA, so that is all I can help you with.
