yea, ive had a few problems with my phantasticus. the greatest problem i have had with them is that the local exotics vet evidently does not know how to treat them for illness due to their small size. of the first pair i bought, the male suddenly fell ill and died within maybe 2 or 3 days. i still dont know what happened to him. my female fell ill a few months ago, losing use of her hind legs. the vet could tell me nothing, but still felt fine taking my $40. she lasted more than a month without use of her backlegs, she ate fine and everything. then one of the crickets turned the tables and one morning i woke up to find that one had chewed away at some of her skin on her hind leg. she was already struggling since she had no use of her hind limbs, so i made the decision at that point to put her to sleep. the small size makes them easy to keep, but difficult to deal with. they're fragile, so they done handle well. i rarely handle any of my geckos, with the exception of when i really need to, or a friend wants me to show them what ive got. they're beautiful to look at, but as far as having a pet to sit on your shoulder to show off to friends...try a different type of gecko. these guys will demand a lot of patience, time, and money. but if you are successful with them you cant stop wanting more!
