No vision!!

Well as you all know this my first year producing high color dragons. What I am finding comical is that everybody keeps asking me to buy my adults. Well what people fail to realize is that my hatchlings came from those two high color parents. about 1/3 of the hatchling showed color right out of the egg and about two thirds showed so so color out of the egg. SO the ones that showed high color as babies sold right away. When I bought my Breeder dragons that people keep asking me to buy they had much less color than they have now. Most dragons develop much more color as they get older, but there has been I trend away from dragons that develop color as they get older. Everybody wants color right out of the egg. What is funny about everyone of those lines that I have collected with high color as hatchlings, none have ever achieved the the colors that my not so colorful hatchlings have achieved at adulthood. From my experience all of the lines showing high color as hatchling seem to fade into nothing but a decent looking adult dragon. IT AMAZES ME HOW LITTLE VISION PEOPLE HAVE!! So we have decided to hold onto our remaining hatchlings which are really starting to color up and when the people come along and ask to buy my adults I will show them my 4 month old Orange Hatchlings that are 350 dollars that they could of bought at two months for close to 100 dollars.

Sorry just thought I would make a quick commentary.

We decided to try a local show at the end of last season. All I had left were some males, some showing nice color. People came to the table asking for babies and for adult females. My wife said, if only we had girls and babies we would have made a lot of sales. Well the guy at the next table had an adult female that he could not sell for only $100. the guy selling babies for $35 didn't have a good day either. soooo they always want what you dont have and then when you have it they dont want to pay for it.

I had this Florida Orange for $75 at 6 months old because he was small and had NO color. The customer had him in his hand and then backed out because he didn't want to shell out $75 on speculation. He shed at the end of his 7th month and this is what was underneith. He is now about a year old and 400g. He became one of my keepers.

How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?
go figure....

Here he is. He's a show off for the girls but he's not sure what to do with it yet. He went nuts when I put a girl in with him but... so he is back to being alone. seems like even my proven males are slow in starting this season. My cricket supplier told me that sales are way off this year. apparently a lot of florida breeders are having an unproductive season.

How can you tell if a male wants to breed?
He's breathing.

Bennett,

Tyson was doing the same thing. He even was submissive to Sandy for the longest. She would head bob & he would wave, etc. Then he finally started catching on with the bobbing, mounting etc. I did put another male with them on the floor a few times, just to let him know that others would do the job, if he didn't. Be careful not to put a bigger male with them though,, she may want the other one ???
I didn't even see an official breeding before I noticed her being gravid. All I can recommend is leaving them together. The only reason I would take them apart is if he is drawling blood or showing any aggression other than breeding activity. I personally think a little roughness is necessary for the females to become receptive. They after all, want the biggest toughest mate & wussies don't fit that bill. Psycho definitely doesn't fall into the wimpy category. lol

Keep me updated.

P.S.
This is Tyson. This pic is a little old though.
