(This is the same post as before, only I've added two better pictures. And by the way, I'm recovering well- but slowly- from my recent back surgery!)

Tobias, my Collard Lizard, has been acting a little odd lately... I'm going to describe his terrarium, and any hints on what to fix would be of help...(I just bought a backdrop for the tank, it hasn't been setup though, as you'll see in the pictures I've included...)

1) Some kind of lizard bark chips as substrate
2) A long, high, hollaw plastic log
3) A shallow water dish (Question about this in just a second)
4) A UVB bulb across the back of the tank
5) A heat lamp hanging above the tank at the left end

Now, here are some questions I have... Lately, his skin has become darker... and even a little orange around his face. Is this normal? I've also noticed he's been spending a lot of time basking, but then even more time in his shallow water dish.... He's even been sleeping in it! Is he going to shed soon or something?

Another question about foods... Lately, I've been having trouble getting ENOUGH crickets! He just loves to eat, and I have to divide them among my two gluttonous Cuban Tree Frogs as well! So lately I've been experimenting, and noticed that Tobias will eat Letuce, and a lot of it! What other veggies will he go for? I tossed two baby diced carrots in there about five minutes ago...

Any replies would be MUCH appreciated!
