my male collared has been acting pretty agressive towards the female including biting on the neck for short periods of time.
Besides seperating is there anything i could do?

well whenever the lizards are mating the boy does a little dance and then bites the girl on the back of the neck and tries to get on her. if she is not into it she tries to push him off by turning over and what not. it kinda makes a big scene and looks bad, but that is nature
he probably is not being mean, just letting his hormones get the best of him. just make sure he is not tearing up her neck.

the biting gets excessive, and he draws blood.

Sometimes the males get overly aggressive during this time, if the female is not receptive , he may continue trying and hurt her.

Some males have even killed females because of sexual aggression. This does not happen alot, thank goodness!

I had this happen last year, my male Zuni, is very sexual all the time, and his mate who he is generally good with, had just layed eggs.
He was in the mood she was not, I came into the room, and found her laying on her side bloody.

She had rolled over to avoid his advances and he bit her very badly on her leg and underneath her front leg, chest area.
She limped for a week.

Just keep an eye on things, like I say if ya see him draw blood the its time to act!

with his little fat Hopi so far this season, I watch like a hawk though. I know know what hes capable of, and how fat it can happen.

Shes HUGE and ready to lay anytime.
