I've heard that these snakes can live on feeder fish. Is that true? If not, what snake can live on anything besides rodents??

yes, they do live on fish, but if that's what you're planning on having as your primary diet for your garters, you might want to read up on thiamanese, as that could be somewhat of a problem some day... good luck... oh, you could also feed them worms and toads too...
