Yes..another genetics question...

Crystall Jun 19, 2003 09:34 PM

If all of my breeders are DH PA (Tremper), what does that make my "normal" looking offspring?
Possible hets, or definite hets?
And what are my chances of obtaining a PA, albino, or patternless? Slim to none? Or high enough?

Thanks to anyone who replies.

A real handy website is geneticswizard.com. You type in what you are breeding then it gives you what you should expect statistically. Check it out.

You can never have just one gecko. Actually it is almost impossible to have two

good question I believe in any het to het breeding that any normal looking is a possible het because you can't tell which is which. Being double hets I say that increases the odds of them being het for one or the other but there would still be a normal or two in the bag so they would have to be labled as possible hets. I think the chances of getting a PA are like 1 to 16.

Geeboo is right about the PA possibility.

Of the normal looking animals, of which there are 9 individuals out of 16 and 4 possible combinations, only 1 of the 9 will theoretically be normal and not het for anything.

I call these PROBABLE hets for this reason.
