Breeding ?'s

Couple of breeding questions for you "pros" out there. First, is it normal for a female not to eat just before she lays an egg? I've got a female green anole that's not eating like she used to, crickets & even a meal worm can crawl over her (literally) and she just ignores it. Also, is there any way to tell if an egg hatched normally, or was eaten by a cricket? I found the shell of an egg with a hole in it, seemingly nothing inside, yet I can't find any sign of a baby anole. Just curious, thanks for any info!

1.) Yes, generally they will stop eating before they lay eggs.

2.) If an anole hatched out of the egg, the egg would generally be in pieces, not in it's normal state like a cricket had eaten it.
