I got a black racer from a friend the other day in poor health. He found it in his yard and gave it to me to see if I could help it. I had it for about 3 days and it laid 6 eggs. I think she might lay more but I have released her in an enclosed area to monitor her health and so she will not be eaten by something. Only thing is I have 6 eggs now and I need to know the moisture for them. I have the temp in the mid 80's.

Personaly, I don't care about moisture percentages. I just get vermiculite, sphagnum moss, I recnetly found out you can use perlite. Wet it . Squize out the ater as much as you can. and halfway bury the eggs. If you use moss. I squees it and ll, but I make a pillow for the eggs with it and put some more on top of it. Make sure it is not wet. I was in a hurry the other day when my racr layed eggs and I did not squeeze all water out of vermiculite and 3 out of 5 have a type of mold/fungus on them. I am going to get some perlite tomarrow and seperate them so I won't spread anything. I have hatched turtle eggs before with a little fungus on it. I don't know if I can with these or not though.

Try a bit of fungicide in the water that you use for wetting the incubation medium. If the eggs already have fungus, you can probably use fungicide to get rid of it without harming the eggs. Garden fungicide will probably work but any fungicide used on humans will should work too provided it is soluble in water.
