a few finds (large pics beware)

tanks Jun 22, 2004 07:23 PM

came back from a one week trip out west, i didnt find much on 277 due to the weather so after 2 days i moved on. further west i-we (john fraser & i on monday night)found 3 alterna. 2 light phase alterna morphs on the same night just 30 minutes & 7-8 miles apart, but lost one on a cut that damn snake just disappeared it was a 32" light phase alterna morph with a few pin stripes of orange that was on monday night. nothing on tuesday, then i found another male alterna morph just a 1/2 mile from were john fraser & i lost the one on monday. over all we had a good time, if anyone sees gerry merker he has been branded with the name lacto-veg. the lacto-veg had a pretty good trip as well.
i some how always find tp&w, cervantez stopped me once & i saw him another time, he was very nice & cordial, then on his day off they sent a guy down from big lakes he was very nice as well but i dont buy his story about just being out for a drive, thats like a hundred mile drive plus he had a little guy with him using night vision, but he was very nice.
i also heard that warden spears has been telling everyone that it was illegal to hunt the river & the gap. this guy needs to realize these are state roads with wide easements & are perfectly legal to hunt, if you read this mr spears feel free to e-mail me so i can enlighten you.
check out this huge twister up in edwards county, it was on the ground for at least 30 minutes.

Hey Shannon,

Thanks for taking the time and effort to let us see the fruits of everyones recent hunts. James and I must motivate and post the light phase male we got in May for all to see as well.

Great photos and some awesome snakes, The pinstriper rocks, but the blairs found on foot while you worked on the lights is also a cutie!! Thanks again. Hugh
