Humidity for incubation...

BeArDyCrAzY Jun 19, 2003 09:48 PM

What should the humidity level be in the containers w/ eggs inside? The humidity in my containers are about 75%. Is this to much? or just right?

well I never really measured the actuall humidity but I think it to be quite high. As long as you have water droplets condensed on the walls and lid of the container it is right on.

There is some droplets of condensation on the sides of the containers but not on the lids.

as long as it is condensed on the sides good you should be ok mine always does on the lids too for some reason. Actually you are probally better off that way cause mine always dripped when I took off the lid. I also use perlite I don't know what you use but that might make a difference?

I use vermiculite as my incubation medium. It's my first time breeding and incubating eggs so i'm really excited and anxious about everything and also want to make sure everything is as perfect as possible. Thnx for replying

well that could be it, I used vermic for a couple of years and never got alot of condensation. I had a hard time with it always too wet or too dry. I swithched to perlite useing Albeys method and really love it if you can get some and are expecting more eggs give it a shot you might like it. Good Luck
