Thought some of you might like to see these little uros. They are 2 to 5 days old. The female laid 15 eggs, one of which she pierced with her claws (a common occurence with uros). The 14 good eggs all hatched.

Oh they are SO CUTE!!!
What beautiful babies!
Just a question... when they are young like that, do you keep them all together in one tank? Do they stay with the parents? When would you need to seperate them from the parents or each other?
Thanks!
Nicole
Hi,
I'm keeping them 7 to a tub for the first month or so. As they grow I will seperate them into smaller groups by size. It is important at this age to give them fecal matter from the parents so that they get the beneficial parasites. I toiled with the idea of keeping them in with the parents as I have read that adult uros will leave the hatchlings alone (unlike fighting that occurs among adults). I decided not to but may in a few weeks put three or four in the parents (very large) tank and watch them carefully. I just wasn't quite willing to risk them yet, they're too cute.

I am quite happy that these bred for me. I really love their color and would like to see more cb. They are a tad shy and I think much of my success lies in leaving them alone and only handling them when absolutely needed (e.g., tank cleaning).

Congratulations on your hatchlings. I think I'm going to get a pair of Red Saharans from Doug Dix. If I get them I hope they breed. If I do get them and they breed I will be sure to post a pic of the babies on the site.
