incubation time

rtdunham Jun 23, 2004 02:56 PM

Need your feedback: I am incubating my pyro eggs at lower temps than ever before, probalby averaging 79.25 degrees F. I've got clutches not yet beginning to hatch, at days 73 and 69, and I'm beginning to get anxious.

Has anyone incubated pyros or similar snakes before at temps as low as 79? If so, how long did they take to hatch? Any related temp/time experiences would be appreciated.

peace
terry

Hi terry,
I always keep my eggs in shelves in my snake rooms-(which the temps stay at a constant 77-80) last year my first pyros eggs started to pip at 71 days, and some not till 77 days. The same was with some hondo eggs-(most around 68-71 days, thats off the top of my head, i have it all written down in my records) let me know what happens with them, I think I'm as anxious as you-(and these arent even my eggs man) peace,
jeff teel

PS- did you get my e-mail from the other night regragding the het-albino male..?
