parthenogenesis in Uros?

MaliMine Jun 23, 2004 04:13 PM

Just want to make sure that the eggs my Mali laid yesterday are not going to spontaneously produce little malis without a "daddy". I've had her 6 years and this is the first time she's laid eggs, imagine my surprise since I named her "Tommy".

I'm going to say no, especially if you bought her as a juvie. 6 years just seems like too long for sperm to survive in a reptile, although I know Mountain Horned Dragons can lay fertile eggs up to a year after the act.
