Pastel RES?

JOSTA Jun 23, 2004 04:37 PM

Has anybody seen a pastel RES for sale lately? Albinos are very popular now, but I am looking for pastels, I haven't heard much about them in a while.

I really havent seen an outstanding Pastels lately either. I have seen some B grade Pastels but nothing worth really jumping on. The term Pastel covers such a broad spectrum of RES variations, and it seems everything that's not an albino or normal is a pastel. I am looking for a couple A pastel specimens to outcross with one of my albinos, so if you see any please let me know as well.

I am also looking for some more pastels also. Does anyone know of a breeder who breeds them? When buying pastels try to get them as big as possible. Most hatchlings are really messed up with deformities and other genetic problems. I lost three hatchlings already. my three juveniles however are doing great. I am also looking for more info on pastels. All the turtle dealers out there really don't say much about where or how they are produced, whether it is really genetic or temperature induced. There are a lot of RES color morphs out there its just that nobody takes the time to breed them, I have albinos, pastels, ghosts, hypos, and some other weird looking RES. If anyone has info on any other genetic proven RES morphs i would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Joel
