Odd discovery

This is probably old news to the pros, but.....

When I got my first batch of meal worms in th email, I placed them in a small styrofoam cooler.

What I came to find out was they were chewing/gnawing their way through the styrofoam.

Now I have no idea if they are consuming the styrofoam or not.

Does anyone think they might be dnagerous as food now?

I have some on the way. But I am worried about the time period before I realized what they were doing.

I have leopard geckos.

I would think that whether they ate it or not they will have digested it or not and it will be gone in a couple days.
And yes, I haven't had this happen but a friend had Zophoba in a tub and an electrical cord fell in the tub and the worms climbed out and ate holes into his (new) styrofoam incubator.....he was not pleased.

Haven't we warned you about tampering with the structure of a chaotic system?
