Post egg laying questions

My female Taiwan surprised me with a clump of 3 eggs & 2 slugs last night. On May 3, I found her coupled with a very young male that I honestly didn't think was old enough to be sexually mature (teenagers, shesh!). Anyway, she never at any point appeared gravid so imagine my shock. In retrospect she did refuse a meal 10 days ago and that should have been a big clue. After all, who ever heard of a living, breathing Taiwan passing up a chance to eat???

OK, so now what do I do? She is still wrapped around them as of 3pm (when I leave for work). Will she eventually leave them or do I need to take them? She is in guard dog mode at the moment and doesn't like it one bit when I touch them (well, duh). They aren't in the best place but I am misting them and I placed a handful of moistened spahgnum moss on top of them to keep them from drying out. I also placed a small wicker basket over her to give her a bit a privacy. I doubt strongly that I will be able to seperate them now so I won't even attempt it unless I hear a compelling argument to the contrary. I am open to advice.

Thanks!

My Chinese taeniura layed nine eggs in her nest box. She displayed the same defense behavior. I could have left them in for a few days since she was in moist sphagnum, but wanted to get them in the incubation box, asap. So, I just reached in slowly and pulled the whole clump out in one motion. Last year I had a harder time because there were only five eggs and she had a better grip. I had to move her off the eggs.

This year she remained coiled around the spot where the eggs were for about a week. I wouldn't leave the eggs with her that long because they will probably dry out, and if you're going to change their position you should do it early.

Just my 2 cents

Thanks for the reply Terry! I'll give her until tomorrow to mosey off and if she doesn't I'll remove them.
