Cage with screen front is this o.k. for Collards?

reptoman Jun 23, 2004 07:12 PM

I am interested in procuring a cage on the market that is made with screen on the top, the sides and bottom are pvc sheet and front is screen. My concern is that over the years the collards I have had were very active and I am concerned that some new collards that I will purchase would rub thier nose on the screen in this kind of cage. Anybody have a comment? I normally have sliding glass or plexiglass for a front. But use those cages for inside application. The advantage to this cage is it could be put outside for sunning, if I put a glass front on it I'm sure the temps would be inordantly high inspite of it having a 75 to 80 gal. capacity.

well my lizards all live in screen cages but they are not metal, they are the cloth screen reptariums and they have never had problems with their noses. they really love it because they can climb all over the cage and much of the time they climb to the top and run across the ceiling. it is rather humorous to watch. anyway that is all that i have to offer. the cage size sounds nice so i hope you can figure something out
