Has anyone bred Argentine Albinos and are they as mean as is rumored?

Tairo Jun 23, 2004 09:21 PM

Was wondering if there are any albino argentines or hets around. You would thnk all that black would turn to orange. Also wondering if they are inherently more agressive than the common columbian or if like all its a matter of per snake and not a generic ssp stereotype. I have changed my mind back and forth on getting a couple for a while now heh Thanks !

Do you mean T argentines or argentine x albino colombian crosses? Young argentines are a little more defensive than colombian babies from my experience...but they calm down quickly.

Yeah I meant the Columbian albino cross. I mean some argentines show tons of black wouldn't that be translated to orange in the darker hets offspring?

Check it out on his website pkreptiles.com.

They look really nice, I think.

I have a 50/50 arg csoss albino female that will hiss at me mouth wide open if I open her cage and don't pick her up right away. Thats how my pair of 75% argentine hypos (AKA SALMONTINE) were when I first got them but after a week or so of picking them up right away they totally chilled out and are now some of my nicest boas. My albino's additude gets better every day. Her color is awesome. Her head is pink and she has a coral top and sides. she gats pinker every shed. Hope this helps.

I have a gravid female argentinian named Cocoa, who is one of the sweetest animals I have ever seen. Very gentle. As gentle as my indigos. She is not an albino. Good luck!
Tony.
