What the??? Any opinions on this???

tc@screamdreams Jun 23, 2004 10:06 PM

I'll be posting 3-4 pics of a male boa in my collection. I keep him in a large sweater box rack on sani-chips and/or newspaper. He has never shown any signs of this before, I thought it was weird and would like some opinions. Please keep in mind there is nothing in his enclosure that could cut, scar, etc - nor has there been. He shed out 06/21/04 and this is what he looked like. The scales are perfect, no indentations, no roughness, no signs what so ever of the possiblity of abrasion, etc. it looks more pigment related. Any ideas?? I'll also be posting a before and after pic. Thanks!!

That's pretty odd, almost looks like he had bleach dripped on him, reminiscent of a shirt I had that I managed to splash bleach on.

.....lol......

It is odd. It looks like even some of his "speckling" shows up on the white areas...he's actually a very sweet animal, lots of pink, but I'm still bewondered. Could he have rubbed against the melamine during shed, although there is no signs of abrasion?? In case someone missed it, I'm keeping him in a large sweater box melamine rack. Any other thoughts???

The reticulated calicos do not tend to show until older.. Perhaps he is one and starting to show now.. The way the pic looks, gives the appearance as if light is shining through a window and hitting him in just those spots.. Rather odd looking..

Good luck figuring it out

It looks like he rub himself while he was in blue, caused some damage to his old skin, result the new developed skin did not have color in damaged areas. It have a male Hypo with the same problem in his last shed (2 weeks ago). He squeezed on the rat so hard that his skin was damaged (I fed him when he was in blue), and when he shed, that area was white.

tc@screamdreams Jun 24, 2004 06:16 AM
