my son with a nice light snapper...we caught 4 on this trip in one hour out in the boat...no real big ones though...they did look healthy so that was good...last time i was at this pond was over 20 years ago....i hope the trappers didn't get the big ones...i'll go back soon to see...billy

Hope you have a lot of nets. Snappers will rip right threw the nets in seconds. I have used nets 2or 3 times and they always rip even on the smallest of snappers. Good luck

we use a net to avoid hurting the animals...some say you can kill them by holding them up by the tail.(they will die later like pinning a rattle snake down behind the neck)..i think if your careful it's probably o.k..but just to play it safe we use a net..and a nets a net..there cheap at walmart...thanks...billy

yea grabing them by the tail will hurt them. i grab them by the sides of the shell. i do not have the extra funds for a new net 3 times a day lol but if it works for you.
