Granite yellows and Baby Greens

worldsocold Jun 23, 2004 10:38 PM

First off, I am a new comer to owning boas, Im a python person. I was considering buying some Granites from Mark, and a green from Kelly, I haven't contacted either party due to lack of money, Lack of Enclosure and most important Lack of decent knowledge to the anaconda. First, does Mark have a name on the forum? The only thing that I really know is that Anacondas are basically a bigger, Water python (liasis fuscus), need extra large water dish, humidity can make or break the snake, except I recently found ot annie's are picky eaters? Anything is appreciated.

First off...Granites are out of the question...No more (I might sell one but it would not be cheap : ) ) He is a good person for yellows though for a little longer...He only posts every now and then (we kind of lost him to those high end money making ball pythons)..he is mlpetros. Kelly is you green guy..but these snakes are not easy and you should hang out in here a little longer before jumping into the big game with the worlds largest snake. He would be the only one to contact since he will give you a ft rat eating snake and thats not easy to find with greens. ( I fed my female granite a ft mouse fuzzy/hopper today guys and WOW...just thought I would add that). You really should be passionate about anacondas before getting them or you will get sick of the poop and strength and sometimes a temper really quick.

WHy are Granites out of the question? I just talked to Mark at Lee watsons swap about buying some and he had them. I got some retics, and have had burms, so the large factor isn't an issue. Like i said I haven't bought any due lack of knowledge and money. I wouldn't just jump into something that could kill me without knowing about it first. Im still in the process of really questioning what I want. Well since i need to get all the money first I have lenty of time to think.

Eunectes4 just bought the last of them. What Mark said he had is now gone. A large water dish is up to you, you dont need them. I really dont think there is much differance between the care for anacondas as there is burms and retics. Just raise the humidity higher, thats really all. Its good you would like to get into anacondas, I think more responsible people should get into them to promote the CB trade. If you get a green, stay with Kelly.

I want to mention...granites are only out for now (I did buy the last ones). Who knows what the other few people have planned and Mark can always make more (eventhough he is getting out of anacondas...I bet the pair that made the first clutch are going to be hidden somewhere in his collection : )) I think the high humidity is good for burms too since the always have shed problems...the difference is burms get URIs and Anacondas love that cooler temperature and dont usually get all the diseases the other snakes have. Thats why I love the anacondas and amazon tree boas...its like you need to neglect them for a year or do something way wrong to kill a cbb. But the temper and the mess adds points for me...I dont know about you guys but I like the work.

Wow, He sold them real fast then, Well either way I want some Baby Granite yellows in the fute anyone that has them going to be breeding them? As far as the green goes, Kelly would be the guy Im buying from, Id be getting a male gree, Just because i don't want a massive feamle, if the male gets big oh well lol. Well as of what it looks like now Im not getting into any new big projects until im done with school, I see no sense in investing time into something to turn around and have to sell it not only is it a waste of an investment but also you do grow attatched to the snake. Thanks for all the in put, and WIll see what happens when I have Money and time on my hands. In the mean time Happy Herping!
