cucumber for box turtles?

mattk17 Jun 23, 2004 11:31 PM

Anyone else feed their box turtles cucumber? My male ornate Rex seems to like it pretty well and just wondering if they are ok/good for the turtles. My initial thoughts are variety is good so as many different veggies and fruits as he will eat is a good thing.

Yes I have 7 Eastern Boxies and I mix some Cucumber in with their veggie salads all the time!

I fed Rex some salad this morning. Carrot slices, romaine and cherry tomato. Should have seen him, he was in his little turtle house and when I came out I showed him a ripe tomato half. He came running with his head held high. Grabbed it right out of my hand. Doesn't ever get excited about the carrot or romaine although he eventually eats them but sure likes cherry tomatos.
