All of you please hang with me a moment while I try to describe the situation. I've been keeping reptiles for approximately 25 years. But until recently I have never really been interested in anacondas. So I thought I would turn to the forum for some scientific feedback. Lets jump back to Christmas 1992. My wife and I stopped at our locale pet store to browse as we always did. In the large display was a yellow anaconda. It was beautiful. But as I stated I was not really into anacondas. It was at the shop for a couple months before someone finally bought it. As a gift to the new owner ,the pet shop keeper told me that the 6 foot snake latched onto the face of its new owner.I did not realize until the past few years the rarity of this specific specimen.
Lets describe the animal! Very bright yellow. And I mean Ferrari yellow not anaconda yellow. There was absolutely no black on the animal what so ever. The head was completely immaculate. No markings at all. Down the body of the animal were blue circles of different sizes. And once again blue not black. These markings were spread very far apart with most of the animal being yellow. I have only seen an animal like this one time before. It was in a encyclopedia circa 1961. I am currently trying to locate the animal that was in the pet store. It is still in operation. I would love some comments on the description I gave of the animal. And would love to know if anyone else has ever seen this type of yellow.................Thanks for your time.
