northern diamond terripan 0.3 gravid found today

turtsandtorts Jun 24, 2004 10:55 AM

At approx 11:30 AM today I caught 3 large gravid female N diamondbacks crossing a road in NJ. I relocated all 3 to a sandy grassy put directly accross the road (the direction they were headed). I also found a recently squished female that was huge. I am pissed. I am going to do some research. I am getting a metal turtle, and I am going to weld 2 inch nails into 3 positions on the turtle. The turtle will be placed to the side of the road. I want to see how many @$$holes will swerve to hit it, and I am going to watch them change their recently deflated tires as well!

Good! Whoever swerves to hit the metal turtle deserves to have his/her tire deflated!!! Let us know if you do it!

Slow down a minute, if you get caught performing such an act you will go to jail and cause seriously bad press for all of us reptile lovers. Why dont you put up some signs warning drivers to keep an eye out - contrary to popular belief turtles can be hard to see for some folks - and drive slowly. Diamondbacks are protected in NJ arent they? Why dont you mention something to the local Fish and Game, at least they might lend an ear to your problem. Just my thoughts, I'd hate to see ya get in serious trouble or anyone get seriously hurt, a flat at even 30 miles an hour could have dire consequences. I know Ive had them. Besides they could crash their stupid SUV into the wetland/marsh where the turtle originally came from, it would come to rest in a steaming (possibly flaming)crumpled, oil, coolant, and gasoline leaking pile of rubbish. They would have to call a HAZMAT team in to clean it all up, the traffic would be backed up for miles and everyone would get home to tired and pissed off to read Michael Moores new book "Stupid White Men". Consequently they wouldnt learn that a complete weasel was running our country, and lining his and his buddies pockets with wealth stolen from YOU and ME and the rest of This Great Country We Live in. Your time would be better spent going to see Farenheit 911.
Best of luck
