Just wanted to know if just not feeding for a couple weeks would help the situation. I can get him to eat a rat right after a mouse. But w/o the mouse he does not have interest.

2 weeks without any food offerings just might do it.

I've had several burms that it was very hard for me to switch. That's why on larger snakes I just start off with rats.
You can try to sent the rat with used mouse beeding a couple of times this should be the fix. Let me know how it works out.
I scented real good with a live mouse and still he had no interest w/o a mouse first. Makes me wish he was started on rats I purchased him from a top breeder and that is what they started him on.
We've had great luck getting retics (and everything else) to switch to what ever you are trying to feed them by putting the new food with the old food (assuming you are feeding Pre-Killed) for a few hours. IE Put the a mouse in a ziplock with a rat. The transfer of smell from the mouse to the rat should get your guy to eat the rat.
