Just out of curiosity, anyone ever been to the Rangunan Zoo In Jakarta, Indonesia? Years ago they had a giant saltwater croc down in the river croc enclosure, named Panjang. He was huge, had one eye, a mnostly black body and a great yellow head. He was exceptionally violent and agile. He was probably in the 15-16 foot range but sometimes the keepers would rile him up with a bamboo pole and he could launch himself vertically 9 feet out of the water and would thrash the whole river up going after that pole. You would get soaked standing there. He'd hide himself under the water and then the river would just explode. it was unbelievable. My favorite croc ever. He never gave up hope that he would catch that pole and eat it. Gave me nightmares (I was 10 at the time, in 1985). I wonder if anyone else on the forum ever saw this fella? I will post a pic...
