Yes, they are fast, mostly because the little suckers can REALLY jump. They handle well once you get them used to you, but I'd only recommend short periods of handling, and not until they are at least 3 inches total length, and you really have to be ready for them to jump. Rather than hand walk, they will 'hand jump.' My female will jump, miss my hand, and end up hanging off my hand from the tip of her tail. Along with "walk up walls" toes, they also have a "sticky spot" on the end of their tails! Mine will lick baby food/honey mix from my finger. They are semi-arborial, so they need stuff to climb on. They are nocturnal, but will sometimes be out during the day. The neat thing is that they like cooler temps, so you don't need lights or heat sources of any kind. They are also very strong, so if you put them in a cage with a screen top, make sure to have clips or something to hold the top on, as they will crawl up the side and push the top off with their noses and escape.
They are really a riot to watch, and they will watch you as well. I'm really not sure which is more fun to watch, my leos or my cresties.
