rubbermaid boxes

graciascott Jun 24, 2004 05:11 PM

Does anyone have any idea where I can get the Rubbermaid #2221 7 gallon sweater boxes? It seems rubbermaid has discontinued them, and the replacement product is no good for reps. (There is about 1/2" gap formed where the new lid "clamps" down).

I would also consider any equivelent size and quality box(if there are any suggestions)

Thanks
scott

I went through this when I was setting up an Animal Plastics Rack. Went all over town trying to find models 2220 & 2221 and was told by numerous stores that they were out of stock and would not be manufactured any more. So, when I did finally find them on-line (google search rubbermaid boxes), I bought extras. I did another search today and the site I'd purchased from last year no longer has them. BUT I did find this site
http://www.shoplet.com/office/db/gMRHP1260.html
Occasionally, I've seen them in places like drugstores and office supply places, but it's totally hit or miss as to whether they'll have them in as they are just selling off old stock.
You can also check http://www.reptiletubs.com/ and Iris for other tubs if you aren't trying to find a specific size for a rack. None of the manufacturers I found previously had a tub that was the correct height to match my shelves.

Hope you can find your tubs!
Lora

I may have to do that. I wanted to stick with the rubbermaids because I already have some.

Thanks for the reply,
