is it ilegal to...

keep red legged frogs in WA? i own one i caught. i wanted to make shure its legal to keep red legges before i keep mine long term.

They are endangered in California, so it is illegal here, but I do not know about WA.

It is protected as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act.

I don't know the exact laws or punishments for keeping one as a pet, but I'm sure it's got to be illegal.

The frog is best left in the wild where it can have a chance to reproduce and help to secure the future of it's species.

guess i better release it tommorow. but the good thing is i fattened it up on crix some were dusted with rep-cal. so it can go to the wild with a full belly!

That kind of information tends to be in your state fishing regulations book, because people would be tempted to catch frogs and salamanders and use them for bait for game fish, or buy such from a bait shop.

You can probably get that booklet in your state for free, or download it from your state DNR web site.

I don't particularly know anything much about the west coast Washington, other than a guess that you have a lot more salamander species than we do. Lucky You.
