Gravid? Please help!

Turtlegirl Jun 24, 2004 09:25 PM

Hi,

There are two (female?) Collard lizards in the pet store that I work at, (they are both brown with white, black and orange markings) and they both have several lumps along their sides, but they do not feel hard or anything.. could they be gravid??
Could someone please post a picture of a gravid female?
If they are gravid, how many eggs will they lay, and what is a good incubation temp?
If they are gravid I will probably buy them because I have an incubator that I have used for my bearded dragons that I can incubate the collard eggs in (-if they are fertile,) Because the pet store doesn't incubate the eggs..
Please reply!

Thanks!!

the orange spots are a sign on them being gravid. they lay about three weeks after they turn orange and then the eggs hatch about another 40-50 days after that. they need a damp laying spot with about 5 inches of sand so they can burrow into it and lay. that is all i have time for for now. there are tons of old posts below that touch on the subjuect and pictures of gravid gals
