Using acrylic paint on the bottom of the snake cage

kylescott Jun 25, 2004 03:15 AM

Hello Everyone

I recently bought a large terrarium for housing a ball python. I have had an ongoing problem with trying to get rid of the rodent smell (the former owner used the cage for mice). I have tried many product and have realized that nothing will get the smell out and that it is in the wood. I thought that painting the bottom of the cage with latex paint would trap the smell and also cover up any house hold cleaners on the wood. After I have painted the bottom of the cage and letting it air out for at least a couple of days, that my problem would be solved. Then I could put mulch over it and the snake wouldn't notice anything wrong. I just wanted some feedback, can anyone find something wrong with putting acrylic paint in the cage? Thanks

Kyle

That didn't help at all. People disagreeing over home depot and other paint stores is not what I am looking for. One person wrote they wouldn't use it and another disagreed, so no help there.
