new burm won't eat

BigBoss Jun 25, 2004 06:46 AM

I recently got a newborn burm he's only about 3 weeks old and he just had his first shed. I offerd him food after his shed and once again today but he refused both times with stunned, dead, and living prey. He seems to kind of shy away and looks kind of afraid of the mouse.

He's captive hatched and healthy. I guess my ball python and burmese just switched bodies because my ball will eat anything you put in front of him without hesitation.

Should i be worried? Or just give him more time?

Yeah just give it time to adapt, plus make sure it's living conditions are right. My last baby burm I bought didn't eat till two months after it's first shed. Most people say burms can be hard to get started eating, just be patient and maybe try feeding at different times of the day to see if it has a preferance. Good luck hopefuly I helped.
