Farancia husbandry

I have seen some of you have experience with Farancia. Chad Arment ( http://herper.com ) and I will be co-authoring a small book on them. We'll cover husbandry as thoroughly as possible. I'd like to gather as much info from you as I can. If you kept records of everything let me know. If not then try to give me as many details as possible. Every little bit helps with these snakes because they are rarely kept. Some people do keep them successfully, though I have yet to hear of captive breeding. One thing I'm particularly interested in hearing; some of you had babies from a friend that got a gravid mud from Glades. I'd like to contact him and get his incubation info. Feel free to contact me privately.

see if I can get his e-mail or phone number. As of the moment, I heard from someone he was somewhat down on his luck and sold his whole collection. I havn't seen him in a few months. My muds did fairly well for few a month or two, but all refused to feed. I couldn't find anyone that was selling amphiumas or sirens, so I had to make due with frogs, toads, and fish. None of those worked, and neither did scented mouse parts. Mine were kept in a 20 long 1/3 land set up. The water part was comprised of acidic tea water in hopes of replicating the tannic conditions of the swamps and pools which would in theory reduce the blisters that many get. It worked for about 2 months, but then all the developed blisters. It just went downhill from there. But I will try to get the guy's number or e-mail for you, but no promises.
