I didn't think she was pregnant. She had thrown the male off several times that I saw. I came home from a 9 day trip and found that my female bairdi had laid 7 eggs.
The eggs were laid in a shoebox with sphagnum moss, but the moss was not vey damp. In addition, the snake had moved the moss away from the eggs and had continued to lay right on top of them.
The eggs all look good, but they were mooshy and baggy. Also the one egg in the middle of the pile is hard, as if it had overheated. The eggs were in a room that did not rise over 85F the entire time I was gone.
I have packed them in moist Sphagnum moss and crossed my fingers.
Any advice?
