Update on my "corn poo woes" post

PAsnake Jun 25, 2004 11:30 AM

Fed him one pink on Tuesday as he was very restless that evening. I assumed he was searching for food. I put him in the critter keeper with the pink he took it right away.

Normal excrement overnight last night, no temp or environment changes made so i can assume the meal before this one was just too much and he couldn't digest it completely before getting rid of it?

thanks again for the help it is great to have so many nice people to help us newbies.

also got a decent picture today so thought i'd post it

Scratch that sometime during the day on the 25th he pooed again. this one looks normal at the beginning and you could clearly see the back legs and tail of the pink.

I have been paying more attention to the snakes habit lately. I have been peeking in on him about every 2 hours the last day. He seems to spent 95% of his time on the cool side of his tank. Any ideas his first two meals here were fine. Now he has two partially digested the last meal was only half the size of the previous 3 meals.

thanks

>>you gave us the temps in his habitat but I don't recall.
It sounds to me like the meal just isn't being fully digested and this to me says too low of temps.
You said he likes to hang out on the cool side so you might have to raise the temps accross the entire enclosure to see if this helps.
just a thought and sugestion

I did just that today and plan to keep them higher this week
and see what happens. I couldn't turn the UTH up or it'd go into the 90's on the bottom of the tank, so i wrapped a towel around three sides and 2/3 of the screen top the surface temp on the warm side stayed about the same but the cool side is alittle higher and the air temps 2/3 up the glass went up as well.

Also how often should a late 03 be shedding? i've had him three weeks now and while he has looked blue in certain light for about two weeks now, his eyes are always clear and bright.
