Hi, yesterday I got a call from sombody who wants to sell me a "Tangerine Dream" phase Honduran milk snake for $100. It is a 3 foot long male with some black tipping and is het for hypo. Is $100 a reasonable price.

Sounds resonable to me. I bought a hatchling last year for $85 at a reptile show. Be sure it's in good health though. I've heard some bigger/older snakes are sold for less if they can't breed anymore. Just my opinion.

the price is more than fair, i'd think. the advantage is you're getting a snake someone's spent at least a year raising, but it's not big enough yet to be considered a failure at breeding--a risk sometimes if you buy adults, more in the 3 1/2 foot to 4 foot range and up. Naturally people dispose of their least productive animals, but a 3-footer hasn't had a chance to be unproductive.

Health and appearance would be the issues, plus how well you know the seller. A photo can tell you about appearance; do you know the seller well enoough to trust his/her report on the animal's health? will they guarantee it's feeding & healthy? if it's got anything they could know about, it ought to show up within 30 days.
