Updated Info on possible new axanthics ... ( OPINIONS WELCOMED )

Wyatt Jun 25, 2004 01:14 PM

Well they have shed and I still cannot figure out how to describe these. I took a group photo after the sheds were complete and then I took individual pics with some het albinos I just hatched out. There is not a lick of yellow on them but then again they do not look like your typical axanthic either. Oh well guess I will just have to keep them all.

Here's a pick of Mom..

Thanks,
Wyatt

I don't know if I would call them axanthic, they really don't look it to me, but it's pretty obvious that 'something' interesting is going on there. Kind of a heavily patterned hypoxanthic blackback with brownish-olive overtones. Of course that name doesn't exactly trip off the tongue. They are pretty though. Maybe you should name them after your wife and call them brandie balls?

Looks like Black Back 'Het' for Wood's line Axanthic?

I agree that they look quite unique and I would not be surprised if they are visible hets for a new type of axanthic kind of like Wood's Red Axanthics. That said, I don't think that female looks like a Red Axanthic.

Here's a picture of my Het Red Axanthic Black Back... similar in looks, but not quite the same.

You have some cool projects going Wyatt. It pays to gamble with a few wild-caughts I think.

Good Luck,
